This was a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States visited Israel in August 2022.

He said, "It's so exciting to witness a further rise in tourism to Israel from the United States, and already reaching or surpassing the record-breaking numbers we saw in 2019". "The United States is our number one market for inbound tourism for Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record-breaking number of tourists from Israel entering Israel every month. We are thrilled to see such a positive shift, and we expect it to continue for many months and years."

Not far behind in the United States, Canada is also on track to exceed its tourism numbers in Israel with 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

Israel received more than 4.6 million tourists in 2019. 969,600 were from the United States. The country's official reopening for all tourists in May saw more than 600,000.
